The
Art of the Violin Project
Perhaps
you’ve seen the famous life-size cow
sculptures in Chicago and New York, or the
horses in Saratoga, or the giant "Mr.
Potato Heads" in Providence. In
celebration of the rich cultural life of our
area, the PVS is proud to bring "The Art
of the Violin" to the Pioneer Valley. We
invited twelve fine Pioneer Valley artists to
transform twelve violins into art objects. The
artists were given full artistic freedom to
work on the project as they pleased. The
results show an astonishing level of
creativity that far exceeded our expectations!
The
violins will be shown at PVS concerts and
galleries from February through May 2003.

May 17 finale at the UMASS Fine Arts Center.
Whether you are a serious art collector, a
violin aficionado, an art enthusiast, or just
someone who is touched by the beauty of these
one-of-a-kind masterpieces, you have the
chance to own one of the violins. When you
order your raffles tickets, you can specify
which violin you want, and generous quantity
discounts are available. You may order
raffle tickets at "Art of the
Violin" showings, on-line, or by calling
