Executive Director of the Pioneer Valley
Symphony is CONSTANCE
CLARKE. A
longtime resident of Franklin County, Ms.
Clarke comes to the PVS&C with extensive
experience in organizational development,
program administration, arts and nonprofit
fundraising. Most recently, she was
Administrator of the Karuna Center for
Peacebuilding in Amherst, and has also
worked at Harvard University, Smith College,
Josh Simpson Contemporary Glass, Millitech
Corporation, and other area companies. Her
volunteer work includes the Shelburne Public
Library, Hilltown Folk, Franklin County 4-H,
Shelburne Conservation Commission, Community
Involved in Sustaining Agriculture, and
Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity, among
other mission-based groups. She holds
bachelor's and master's degrees from Boston
University.
Assistant
Manager/Orchestra Manager CECILIA
R. BERGER joined PVS&C in 1999 as
a member of the orchestra and has continued
to play for PVS as Principal Second Violin.
Cecilia served PVS&C as personnel manager and
operations manager before assuming her
current administrative duties. She also
performs with the Commonwealth Opera in
Northampton and teaches as a member of the
String Faculty at Artspace in Greenfield.
Cecilia has played with and held leadership
positions in numerous orchestras and
ensembles throughout the United States
including the Civic Orchestra of Chicago,
Heidenheim Quartet, Jefferson (LA) Symphony
Orchestra and Pensacola Opera. She holds a
master’s degree in violin performance from
Bowling Green State University, OH, and a
bachelor’s degree, also in violin
performance, from Lawrence University, WI.
